Recruited candidates for clinical trials using Google Ads, Facebook Ads and a custom landing page

Challenge
Relievant Medsystems is a privately held medical device company providing new solutions to millions of patients suffering from chronic low back pain. At any given time low back pain impacts nearly 30% of the U.S. population. Having developed a new, minimally invasive procedure called the Intracept Procedure⧉ to treat the condition, Relievant chose MSL to help recuit candidates for clinical trials.

Solution
To reach chronic low back pain sufferers, I was asked to expand and optimize paid media campaigns using Facebook Ads and Google Ads. In addition, I led the redesign of a clinical trials recruitment landing page. The site included disease state awareness information and a multi-page form to qualify candidates for the procedure using conditional branching. Each branch of the form required distinct conversion events such that complete reporting could be provided to distinguish those who were eligible for the procedure from those not eligible. In compliance with regulations and in accordance with the sponsor, campaign assets were submitted to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA)⧉ and Institutional Review Board (IRB)⧉ for review and approval prior to campaign launch.

Results
During the campaign, an average 2.5% click-through rate and an impressive 30%+ conversion rate were achieved using on-going campaign optimization on both Facebook Ads and Google Ads.
